| Selection Procedure:
The operating agencies Leargas (Ireland) and the British Council (UK) manage the assessment of applications in their respective areas of responsibility. The grant panels of both Leargas and the British Council meet five times a year, approximately five-six weeks after the Causeway deadlines for submission of applications.
Leargas selection panel representatives comprise of four members: a representative of the Board of Leargas, a representative of the National Youth Council of Ireland, a representative working in the field of Youth and Community work in Ireland and a representative from the Department of Education and Science.
At the British Council, the selection panel members include: the chair, the operating agency resource person for Causeway, a representative of the Northern Ireland Youth Council, a member of the British Youth Council, and members of the regional network of Connect Youth.
In all cases applications are assessed individually in accordance to the priorities of the Causeway Programme, these include:
• Inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities
• Innovation
• First-time applicants
